Welcome to Sylvan Harbor!

Sylvan Harbor is a family owned and operated RV park that also offers cabin lodging, tent camping and amenities for the sea angler. Situated within the rugged beauty of California’s northern coast, the property has provided a seasonal refuge and lasting memories for many campers, travelers, and fishermen since the late 1940s.

Located one mile north of the small town of Trinidad, Sylvan Harbor is a short drive, bike ride, or walk from local restaurants and shopping, rivers, beaches, and national and state parks. Many of our guests stay the entire summer to take advantage of the mild coastal climate and bounty of nearby recreation and tourist opportunities such as: fishing out of Trinidad Harbor, combing the local beaches, hiking the redwood groves, wildlife viewing, local farmers markets and artisan shops, and fine dining.

The RV Park is basic and functional. The sites are narrow, offer no privacy, and are challenging to back into. Campers and travelers of all types are welcome year-round, but the park caters to fisherman in the summer months. The property is lined with tall trees on its perimeter, but offers little shade. The cabins are rustic, cozy, and clean, but are also surrounded by RVs in the peak summer months. If you prefer an RV park with modern amenities or the aesthetic of a cabin in the woods, we recommend staying elsewhere. Thank you for considering staying at Sylvan Harbor!

About the Owners:

From the late 1960s the Manka family cultivated an atmosphere of camaraderie at Sylvan Harbor that remains to this day. Lindsey Thomas (formerly Manka) and her husband Sean bought the property in 2015. Along with their children: Anya, Dai, Seren, Seppy and Raelynn they work to maintain the same welcoming service that the Manka family perfected.
